New Dr. Weishaar website

Please check out the new website for Dr. Weishaar in the Spokane Valley. We just launched it a couple weeks ago and already have had a huge increase in customer usage and inquiry. It features easy to use navigation, a new design fitting today’s browser standards, updated contact and some great new photography done by Big Picture Studio’s from Coeur d’Alene.

Dr. Weishaar provides general dental care such as teeth whitening, root canals, dentures and implants, and some comfortable sedation dentistry for those of us who are chickens in the dental chair.

Not only have I been working for them, I am also in the process of getting a tooth implant which so far has been a pretty painless process thanks to their care and superb oral skills! The care provided by the combined team of Dr. Weishaar and Dr. Nygaard could be on the way to settling me down when it comes to bad experiences in the dental chair.

Thank you!

Congratulations to I-Guard International

Our dog trainer, Nick Lungu, was at a German Shepherd show this past weekend with his dogs in Snohimish. Sounds like he and their crew did very well. We are lucky and excited to have him working with our dogs, Maggie and Jack, even though it is nowhere near the level that his German Shepherds are doing. Check out their achievements on their Facebook page

Now that they are back in Spokane, we have our next dog training session this Thursday. He has our dogs performing very well with sit/stays, recall and general listening skills. We can’t seem to get him to work with our kids yet though but we will keep working on him.

When looking for dog training needs in Spokane, we certainly recommend them f10 achieving optimal performance with your four legged family members. I would also recommend checking out their german shepherd puppies for sale on their puppies pages. Good looking dogs!

Thanks Nick!

Can I have your money?

When we had the opportunity to bring a new franchise to Washington back in 2007, we thought that we had hit the perfect win. We had the money, we had the freedom in our lives, we had the ambition. What we found is that we didn’t have the business sense to understand how a franchise works. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I highly recommend having a sound financial adviser in place run through the numbers. As it turns out, there are certain percentages of money left over after everyone gets their cut that are much like looking at regular old investing! Probably obvious to some but apparently we are novices. If you invest money expecting to see a 10% return at the end of the year, that sounds pretty good. In the little contract for your financial broker it might say that they earn 5% (or something like that) of your overall funds. Well, with a little downturn in the investment (called the economy) that brings your return to say 4%, you end up owing someone more money! Usually the electric company or the landlord as the financial manager gets to control the money and take their cut first. In our case the franchisor. Just like a lunch meeting with your financial adviser, there is the ever familiar response of we’ll shuffle some things around, try a couple of new things and remember, all of these other people are doing really well and weathering the storm so just hold tight. The next year it might be the same story or you might see a little gain and get excited. But does it ever keep up with inflation plus the fees of the ones in control of your money?

Just my two cents, which by the time you read this might equate to me owing someone more money, on thinking about an investment that makes its money off you investing yours, and your parents, and your kids’ college money, and the money you borrow against your home, the money that you borrow from the back against your inventory…

Looking for a new home

Kimberly and I have been scouring the Spokane Valley for the ultimate deal on a new home. We have been looking a lot up in the Northwood area and really like those neighborhoods. The lots for sale seem to be a little more expensive but the home prices seem pretty much average.

What we are concerned about is buying to early. If the housing market takes another plunge, I don’t to be sitting on a negative equity investment for the next 10 years. I am almost thinking that we would be best to wait until the election is over. See if Ron Paul gets elected or if Obama stays in office.

Anyway, as we look for land for sale to possibly build a new home or buy an existing home, we are having fun visiting new neighborhoods that we hadn’t previously visited before around the area. We are mainly looking in the West Valley school district as that is where we would like our kids to go to school.

Pet Grooming Care For You and Your Animal’s Health

Pet grooming isn’t just for appearance or for the preferences of the owner – it’s an essential part of maintaining the health and hygiene of your pet. Pet grooming is important on a regular basis, regardless of the type of coat or animal breed. Grooming minimizes shedding, skin problems and even bad breath for your dog or cat. During grooming, health problems that may otherwise go unnoticed can be discovered and your pet gets some much needed loving and attention. If you don’t have the time to handle the grooming yourself, you can take your loved one to a pet grooming salon.

Almost half of all pet owners allow their pets to live and sleep indoors. Grooming your pet regularly will go a long way to alleviate the smell and allergy factors brought in by your pet each day. Not to mention other dirt, bacteria or small insects picked up from their trips to the outdoors.

A general time-frame between grooming is anywhere between 4 to 8 weeks. The length of time between groomings depends on the type and condition of your pet’s coat. Many people have their pet groomed every other week or even every week if they like to maintain a clean, healthy and cuddly companion.
